HOW TO STAY HEALTHY WHILE TRAVELING

If you're anything like me you try to be as health cautious as possible. But if you're anything like me you know how difficult that could be, especially while traveling. I'm the worst when it comes to travel and diet. I overindulge in alcohol way too much and I always need to try the local dessert (worst sweet tooth ever). So trying to be health cautious while traveling is a bit difficult. Luckily I compiled these tips for you on how to stay healthy while traveling:

Pack snacks. I'm a huge snacker. I'm literally eating all day. No matter if you're going through security, on the road, or out hiking. Bring snacks. Some of my favorite snacks while traveling include:

Don't eat everything. Moderation is key. Moderation, not deprivation. Feel free to order some pasta from that amazing Italian restaurant you heard about but don't eat everything. Remember portion control is crucial. Also, remember to stock up on your greens. Order a side salad and eat it before your main meal, this will help fill you up and you'll avoid eating that entire bowl of pasta.

Plan ahead. Planning ahead is key. Look up healthier restaurants before you get to your destination. Once you choose a restaurant look up healthy options so you know what to order when getting there.

Drink your greens. I just recently learned about the 8G Essential Greens. These things are wonderful. When you're on the go you don't always have the time to eat your greens. Take one of these with some water and it's a full serving of greens per tablet. Bonus: they give you amazing energy!

Walk walk walk. Let's be honest, we all rely on uber or public transportation nowadays. Well, stop it! Especially on vacation, one of my favorite ways to learn around the city is to walk it out. Get lost a little, explore, and stay active. You'll be surprised what you can learn about a city on foot.

Watch your alcohol intake. I sure love my alcohol. Especially on vacation. And sure you can have a few cocktails, but watch how many you have and what kind you have. A Cosmo can run you around 200 calories filled with sugar and carbs. Order a vodka soda at 100 calories and avoid all the unnecessary sugar and carbs.

Drink more water. Did you know you can bring a water bottle through security, as long as there's no liquid inside? Bring one of your favorite bottles and fill it up at the water station past security. Stay hydrated. This will also allow you not to over eat and be overall healthy.
