10 REASONS TO LOVE BOSTON

Spending the beautiful Memorial Day weekend in one of America's oldest cities was incredible. The city has so much history and so much character I would definitely be coming back. Of course, seeing the entire city in a weekend was a difficult, because there are so many different things to do, especially when you want to sit down and enjoy your surroundings. So here are some of my favorite things to do in Boston and why I enjoyed the city.

1. Newbury Street.

If you've ever heard anything about Boston you've probably heard of Newbury Street. My experience with Boston was no different. The area is super chic, tons of awesome outdoor patios, boutique shops and a great place to people watch. Grab a cocktail outdoors (but you have to order some food too, they won't let you just have cocktails) absorb the sun and enjoy the surroundings.

2. The hidden art and street performers.

Boston surprisingly has a ton of art everywhere. The second you get off at the airport you'll see how vibrant everything is and you'll notice awesome sculptures everywhere. Along with this, they have a huge street art scene. Almost every corner you turn you'll find something to appreciate. From sculptures to weird street performers, Boston can get artistic.

3. Oysters and other food.

If you're anything like me, food is a huge part of my travels. If you love seafood Boston is the place to be. Having the oldest restaurant in America the Ye Old Union Oyster House has to be on your must go to list. Even if you don't get a chance to stop in have oysters anywhere and you won't be disappointed. Check out Liquid Art House for brunch with the most beautiful interior. Fun fact: everything inside is for sale too, from the fork you eat with to the beautiful octopus-like chandelier. unnamed.jpg

4. The schools.

I didn't get to spend too much time around the schools since they were already on a break but you bet I took a stroll in Cambridge to explore some of the most beautiful schools in the country.

5. The atmosphere.

Coming from a big city I'm used to life being very on the go, I felt that everyone here was extremely laid back and had a more care-free lifestyle to them. The city is overall less crowded (sure I was there after school was let out) but I enjoyed the freedom that the city gave off.

6. The outdoors.

No trip to Boston is complete without a visit to The Boston Commons. This is an absolutely gorgeous public garden with tons of trails and a beautiful pond where you can ride a paddle swan. Aside from the Commons just spending your day outside is beautiful. Take a walk down the river or explore any neighborhood by foot the city is absolutely gorgeous. IMG_5470IMG_5489

7. Nightlife.

Nightlife is extremely important to me. I'm huge on music and dancing, absolutely love them both. Of course, I make it a point to check out some of the hotspots when in town, sure I went to a typical nightclub but I can do that anywhere. The true fun was at a little joint called The Middle East and Zuzu. I haven't had this much fun as I was here in such a long time. The atmosphere was incredible and every single person has had a smile on their face. Can't beat live belly dancing either.

8. Little Italy.

Italy is my favorite country I wanted to check out Boston's Little Italy. The area was super cute with cobblestone roads I really felt a bit nostalgic here. Be sure to stop in at Mike's Pastries for a cannoli, and Picco for coconut gelato.

9. Cocktails.

I'm a huge fan of cocktail lounges, I love the atmosphere, the bartenders, and the cocktails. Yvonne's is a definite must go with a beautiful cocktail lounge and friendly service. Be sure to check out Drink for a classic prohibition inspired cocktail based on your flavor of the day.

10. The airport.

From the second I got off the plane at Logan Airport to the minute I boarded again I had a great time in Boston, the airport was no exception. It's a beautiful clean airport with tons of art, vibrancy, and character. It made my trip that much more enjoyable. Search for flights to Boston here.unnamed1
